The heart, mind, and soul of business

Friends and family who are not in business rarely appreciate just how much the 3 key ingredients of heart, mind, and soul, are crucial to the success of your business – putting in endless quantities of these will see your business soar.

Your head and heart are worn out thinking about your responsibilities and feeling the pressure to keep themselves, their staff, clients, and suppliers engaged on a daily basis. With so much head and heart invested in your business, it takes over your entire being, in essence, your soul, which poses the question, is work-life balance important?

Finding a balance

With the less stressful 9-to-5 jobs and the ability to go home and forget work, business owners and managers strive to achieve and control their destiny and wealth. In contrast, not one entrepreneur sets out with the knowledge that it will take over their entire being, but they appreciate and are willing to make those sacrifices.

This sacrifice often takes a toll and can only go on for so long before burning the candle at both ends, physically and mentally, causing burnout. The work-life balance is important to refrain from this burnout, and although the result might only be temporary in some cases, it’s hard to make a comeback when it’s gone on for too long.

The Wheel of Everything

To address the question of, is work-life balance important, as part of the Business Class Academy’s monthly head and heart wellbeing check helps, we delegate with a process called The Wheel of Everything.

The Wheel of Everything is a circle with segments that we split into all the different parts of our lives. With a score from 1 to 10, with 10 being all is great and 1 being all is bad. This is to score the segment for factors such as business, family, downtime, health, and mental wellbeing as well as other elements that form part of an individual’s life.

Unfortunately, when one part of the wheel starts to go down below six, it affects the rest of the parts in the wheel. Therefore, it is a key part of business success that the BCA supports.

Each month, our delegates’ hearts and minds retain the balance to thrive in the long run and understand why the work-life balance is important.
