The Habit: Make these small changes to guarantee the success of your business

No this is not a JR Tolkien adventure, but a quest to go through all sorts of sacrifices, trials, and tribulations to overcome your business demons, which covers good work habits, bad work habits.

To restore peace to the business shire, a shift in mindset will be required, as well as the cultivation of some good and the elimination of certain bad behaviours, as well as the learning not to be too precious about the small things (not rings) in order to succeed. Below are some good work habits and bad work habits that are common mistakes made in the business industry and others that result in progression:

Bad habits

  • Doing the kind of work you don’t need to do and finding that you can’t complete your own tasks at the end of the day.
  • Recruiting and keeping the wrong people in your business who are not motivated or engaged in helping you reach your goal.
  • Not involving your employees in expanding your business by putting a piece of themselves into it.

Good habits

  • Regularly check in on how you’re doing with the business.
  • Respecting your mental wellbeing at decent intervals and adjusting it if necessary.
  • Surrounding yourself with the kind of people that will help you and encourage you to succeed.
  • Making a plan for your business’s success and sticking to it, as well as checking in on it on a frequent basis to ensure it’s on track.

A step in the right direction

Like any professional who has a coach – be it a footballer, musician, tennis player – will always be looking for professional help and support to grow its business – good work habits, bad work habits included.

If you have the time and money, a one-year MBA will cost you between £10,000 and £15,000 on average, with MBA programmes at elite business institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge costing up to £45,000.

Over the course of 25 years, the head coach at the Business Class Academy has done a lot of the labour in obtaining an MBA. This is now ready to pass on that current theory, paired with ‘real life’ examples, as university tutors rarely have business experience.
